Who We Are

Children's Autism Center was founded by a small group of dedicated parents and staff who wanted to improve the lives of others. This passion continues today and defines what it is that we do.

When a parent discovered in the late 1990s that ABA therapy improved the behavior and increased multiple domains of skills in her son who had been diagnosed with autism, she decided to share the therapy—and her Chicago-based BCBA—with more parents. Together, they hired staff who dedicated their lives to this work.

Several years later in 2005, this group became the non-profit, Children's Autism Center, with a goal of providing ABA services to every child with a need. Besides the center, home, community, and school based services, this goal is lived out by training parents to implement ABA strategies with their child, regardless of ability to pay. To date, CAC staff have served well over 100 children in northeast Indiana.

Children's Autism Center's Core Purpose

To improve the lives of others. This core purpose defines every business decision we make.

Our Core Values

  • Embodiment of optimism, passion, playfulness, and tenacity. We demonstrate each one of these values in our work. We believe our learners will make maximum progress and we work to teach them using every tool in our ABA toolbox. We do this with enthusiasm and fun—we recognize learning is difficult for children with autism, so our goal is to make the teaching environment as fun as possible.
  • Striving for excellence in all we do. We continually challenge ourselves to improve our services by utilizing the most current literature and evidence-based strategies.
  • Comprehensive approach to care. We treat the whole child in every environment—meaning we support the child along with his or her family and teachers in order to maximize the impact.

We know it is critical to provide the highest quality, most effective treatment to your child as efficiently as possible. ABA therapy is a journey, with the parents as the most valuable member of the team. We work together in determining the priority level of skill acquisition and behavior management, a process that takes knowledge, patience, and consistency. At Children's Autism Center, you will find a team dedicated to improving your child's life along with the lives of your family overall. While we focus on re-mediating the symptoms of autism, our secondary goal is to equip you with the skills you need to teach your child across every environment the two of you encounter.

Our mission: "Children's Autism Center, Inc., is dedicated to providing the highest quality, medically supported therapy to children of all ages with autism and developmental/language delays in Northeast Indiana. Children's Autism Center, Inc., strives to maintain a tuition assistance fund so that all children with a need for services may benefit, regardless of ability to pay."
